Kapok is a nature fiber, that is gatheret from kapok trees growing in the tropical rainforests. Our kapok products are filled with 100% natural kapok with a cover of 100% certified organic cotton.

Kapok contains a natural bitter substance that makes kapok resistance to bacteria and house dust mites. Also, the cover is woven so tightly that house dust mites cannot penetrate.
A kapok mattress protector is a wonderful supplement to any mattress no matter if it is a foam, latex or kapok mattress. Kapok is popular and famous for its amazing temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking properties. If you have problems with hot nights, you may consider not only to changing your duvet but also to add a mattress protector to your bed. Foam and latex are not particular breathable or good at regulating temperature. Thus, it is difficult for the body to get rid of excess heat and moisture. When you sleep on a kapok mattress protector you will experience that the protector feels body neutral and breathable.
A Cocoon kapok quilt can be washed at 60 °C - however, we recommend washing at 40 °C to protect the duvet as much as possible and for a more environmentally friendly cleaning. For the best possible result, it is also recommended to use a tumble dryer to dry the product.

Upon receiving the duvet In order to preserve the fiber structure and the properties of the fiber as best as possible, we recommend that you only wash your kapok duvet if it is strictly necessary. Your Cocoon kapok duvet has not been dyed, treated with chemicals, nor contains any synthetic materials, and you therefore do not need to wash your new kapok duvet before use.
In addition, kapok contains a natural bitter substance, which makes the fiber and thus the kapok duvet antibacterial and resistant to house dust mites. It is therefore not necessary to wash the kapok duvet, unless there has been a major accident in the bed. In the case of minor stains, we recommend that you simply spot clean the duvet, in order to spare the duvet as much as possible.
We recommend airing the kapok quilt approx. once a month or as needed to maintain the structure of your duvet and ensure a healthy and fresh sleeping environment. If you need to wash your kapok duvet - then follow our extended washing instructions, which you will also find at the bottom of website.
